#5. Bol Bol
Entering his second year with the Phoenix Suns, Bol Bol boasts the fifth-longest wingspan in the league at 7-foot-8. His wingspan exceeds his height by five inches. Last season, he averaged 5.2 points and 3.2 rebounds per game for the Suns, and it will be intriguing to observe his role this season under new coach Mike Budenholzer.
#4. Rudy Gobert
Rudy Gobert ranks fourth with a wingspan of 7-9, which is a remarkable eight inches longer than his height. With the Minnesota Timberwolves moving on from big man Karl-Anthony Towns, the center position will be primarily handled by four-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert.
It will be interesting to see how Gobert adapts his game with the revamped Timberwolves squad that traded Towns for Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo. Last season, Gobert averaged 14.0 points, 12.9 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game over 34.1 minutes, marking the second-highest stats of his career.
#3. Mo Bamba
Mo Bamba comes in third with a 7-10 wingspan, which is 10 inches longer than his height. The big man has struggled to find his rhythm in the league and recently endured two challenging seasons while playing for the LA Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers. This season, he will play for the LA Clippers.
#2. Zach Edey
The Memphis Grizzlies are gearing up for a comeback after a season plagued by injuries. Among their reinforcements is rookie big man Zach Edey, who will serve as the team's new starting center.
Standing at 7-4, Edey is tied for the tallest active player distinction alongside San Antonio’s Victor Wembanyama and boasts an impressive 7-11 wingspan.
In the preseason, Edey averaged 12.2 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.0 blocks over 20.2 minutes per game.
#1. Victor Wembanyama
Victor Wembanyama, the reigning Rookie of the Year, holds the title of the league’s wingspan leader. His astounding 8-foot wingspan is the third-longest in NBA history, only behind Tacko Fall's 8-foot-2 and Manute Bol's 8-foot-6.
He had an impressive first season, averaging 21.4 points, 10.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 3.6 blocks and 1.2 steals per game, and he is expected to continue improving.
The San Antonio Spurs have brought in veterans such as Chris Paul and Harrison Barnes, which could help accelerate his development as the team looks to improve on last year’s 22-60 record.
