Mills averaged 23.3 points in six games, making him the most efficient player in the Australian team. He started his Tokyo Olympics 2020 campaign by dropping 25 points against Team Nigeria and ended it on an even better note.
#2 Luka Doncic - 23.8 points per game
Luka Doncic has shown time and time again that he can handle himself in a game of basketball no matter the stage of competition. He ensured Slovenia qualified for the Tokyo Olympics and then led them on a deep run.
In the process, the Slovenian men's basketball team qualified for their first Olympics in the nation's history. The 22-year-old guard dropped 48 points against Argentina to mark his Tokyo Olympics 2020 campaign.
Doncic continued his stellar performance as the competition progressed. Although his points tally dropped, he ended his Tokyo Olympics campaign with the most assists and defensive rebounds per game.
He averaged 23.8 points per game in the six matches he featured in. The Slovenian had to play through an injury, which inhibited his production rate as Slovenia lost the bronze medal playoff to Team Australia.
#1 Ricky Rubio - 25.5 points per game
Spain crashed out of the Tokyo Olympics after an 85-91 loss to Team USA in the quarter-finals. However, Ricky Rubio recorded the most points per game by any player in the tournament.
Rubio played in only four games compared to the six Luka Doncic and Patty Mills featured in. Nevertheless, he was efficient in the competition, averaging a tournament-high 25.5 points per game.
The quarter-final bout against the USA saw Rubio record his highest points tally in the Tokyo Olympics. He put 38 past the dogged USA defense comprising Jrue Holiday, Draymond Green and Bam Adebayo.
