Albeit the early season struggles for the No.2 Draft pick, The hype surrounding Lonzo Ball seemingly never ceases to fade away. With fans and critics alike throwing shade calling him a bust already while others quick to back Los Angeles Lakers GM Magic Johnson, on his decision to pick the year old and dub him the face of the Lakers Franchise - the jury is still out.
Let's take the latter route and assume Lonzo Ball- will ball out, and what it could mean for the NBA and us fans for at the very least, the next decade:
#1 Jason Kidd 2.0?

The NBA is currently dominated by Point Guards with a shoot first- mentality. The Steph Curry's of the world or The Damian Lillard's or Kyrie Irving's, whoever it might be - pick your poison. Besides Chris Paul, It seems like every NBA Franchise needs a starting PG that can shoot the ball without having to worry about facilitating it.
Unlike others, Breaking the status quo Lonzo Ball is the quintessential point guard. High basketball IQ, pass-first mentality, decent defender and rebounder due to his height, and the ability to look over smaller point guards for that assist and an easy bucket for his teammates. Jason Kidd anyone?
And for those calling him a bust:
2. California Love
Showtime Basketball, Ah..Hollywood. The place where sports, music, and stars align.(Pun intended). Despite the constant woes and their uncanny ability to hold L's in recent past, Los Angeles will always remain a destination option for free agents due to the history, the fan base and just the overall allure of being a part of the Purple & Gold Franchise.
Lonzo Ball is on an upward trajectory, Give him a year or two and he is going to fill out his 6'7 body frame. He is going to get bigger and better. His passing ability is contagious, he just makes everyone better around him.
Should we see the rise of Ball as the face of the Lakers, there is no doubt future NBA stars would consider joining him, snow-balling into a completely revamped, Super-team, Lakers roster and possibly changing the way we look at the Power Ranking of the NBA today.
3. Big Baller Brand
Love 'em or hate 'em ,The Hype is VERY real. Lavar Ball and his three Dragon Balls are here to stay:
Big Baller Brand's signature sneakers release plans for Lonzo Ball and his baby brother, Lamelo Ball with the ZO2 Prime remix and Melo Ball 1 respectively only seems to be the tip of the iceberg. If Lonzo steps up his game up a notch, it's going keep people talking and the last time I checked, hype- sells sneakers:
Let's say Big Baller Brand really takes off, We could potentially see the brand being endorsed by other high profile players in the League in years to come competing with the likes of already established brands such as Nike, Adidas and Under Armour. And that could change the WHOLE SNEAKER GAME and shake the very foundation of the NBA in terms of how we perceive Basketball culture as fans if the game.
Big Baller's loose! If you can't afford the ZO2'S, you're NOT a BIG BALLER! -Lavar Ball
