#5 Dirk Nowitzki

Dirk Nowitzki has single-handedly made the Dallas Mavericks relevant. In his 19 seasons in the league, irrespective of the support he has had on the roster, Nowitzki has carried the Mavericks to the Playoffs fifteen times. The team's lone championship in 2011 was pillared around Nowitzki's heroics in the Playoffs.

Nowitzki is the only player in franchise history to be named a league MVP (2007). He's only the sixth player in NBA history to score more than 30,000 points and one of only seven players in the illustrious 50-40-90 club. Among his other accolades include 13-time All-Star appearances, 12-time All-NBA selections.

His jersey going up at the American Airlines Center post his retirement is a no-brainer. Nowitzki and Carter are the only active players on this list.
