The Hornets, who endured 10 seasons in the NBA as the Bobcats, have been eliminated in the first round by the Miami Heat in both of their last two playoffs appearances.
They have never qualified for the Eastern Conference Finals but have reached the semi-finals on four occasions in the 1992-93, 1997-98, 2000-01, and the 2001-02 seasons.
