#2 New Orleans Pelicans
It was only in 2013 that the Louisiana based franchise renamed itself to New Orleans Pelicans, having existed as the New Orleans Hornets for 11 seasons since their inception in 2002.
During their comparatively short tenure in the NBA, the Pelicans have managed to qualify for the playoffs six times.

Their best playoffs run came in the 2007-08 season when the Pelicans finished second in the Western Conference but were eliminated by the San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference Semifinals 3-4 in a closely contested series.
The then head coach Byron Scott won Coach of the Year award for the regular season.
New Orleans Pelicans have a good record of 43-30 in the NBA currently and look all set to return to the playoffs after having missed out in the previous two seasons. All-Star forward Anthony Davis is also making a case for the regular season MVP award.
