#2 Oklahoma City Thunder
The Lakers are likely to be contending with the Thunder for a playoff spot next season, although the teams could also face off for the services of Caruso.
According to Royce Young of ESPN, the Thunder view backup point guard Dennis Schroder as a re-tradeable asset -- who is likely to be moved this summer due to his large salary. If both were to ultimately leave, the Thunder would be left without a backup point guard to Russell Westbrook, and luxury tax restrictions mean that the team would need to sign a player to a minimum deal.
Caruso fits this bill, and his ability to knock down three's would also be a major boost to a Thunder team that is among the worst in the NBA from range.
