The Atlanta Dream will visit the Chicago Sky for a matinee showdown in the WNBA on Wednesday. The Dream will look to snap a four-game losing streak, while the Sky look to improve to improve to 9-12 ahead of a busy week for the team.

The Sky are coming off an 84-71 loss to the Seattle Storm in which rookie sensation Angel Reese broke the all-time WNBA record for consecutive double-doubles. Chennedy Carter has paved the way for the Sky with her 16.5 points per game.

Atlanta has struggled with injuries this season and won just one of their last seven contests. The road ahead doesn’t look much better, with the Las Vegas Aces, Seattle Storm and Minnesota Lynx — three of the league's hottest teams — up next after Chicago.

Atlanta Dream vs. Chicago Sky preview

The two teams meet for the third time this season, with each team winning by less than 10 through the first two.

In their last matchup on July 2, the Sky pulled ahead for an 85-77 victory. Carter was near perfect for the Sky, putting up 26 points on 11-16 shooting while Angel Reese pulled down a season-high 19 boards. The Sky held off 19-point outings from Tina Charles and Allisha Gray to secure the win on the road.

Guard Dana Evans was huge off the bench in the win, hitting 4-6 from deep for the Sky. They’ll play three games in four days, with their next two coming against the league No. 1 seed New York Liberty.

Atlanta Dream vs. Chicago Sky starting lineups

Atlanta will be without two key starters going into the matchup. Guard Rhyne Howard, who’s scored 15.4 points per game this season, is still out indefinitely after suffering an ankle injury two weeks ago. Fellow guard Jordin Canada has a broken finger and will be out until at least the Olympic break this summer.

PG: Haley Jones SG: Maya Caldwell SF: Allisha Gray PF: Nia Coffey C: Tina Charles

Off the bench, they can expect big minutes from Destanni Henderson, Naz Hillmon, Lorela Cubaj, and Laeticia Amihere.

The Sky come into the game missing center Elizabeth Williams, who tore her meniscus and is now out for the season, paving the way for a rookie frontcourt of Reese and Kamilla Cardoso.

PG: Lindsay Allen SG: Chennedy Carter SF: Marina Mabrey PF: Angel Reese C: Kamilla Cardoso

They’ll look for help from a bench consisting of Dana Evans, Diamond DeShields, and Isabelle Harrison.

Atlanta Dream vs. Chicago Sky prediction

The books have the Sky as a slight favorite in the matchup. But with Atlanta amid a tough schedule, look for them to capitalize on a weaker Sky opponent. Don’t be surprised if they cover the spread in a low-scoring matchup.
