The Atlanta Hawks are a member of the Southeast Division in the Eastern Conference in the NBA. The team was originally founded in 1946 as the Buffalo Bisons and after multiple name changes, they were branded as the Atlanta Hawks in 1968. The team is presently owned by Tony Ressler and play their home games at the State Farm Arena. The Hawks have only won one championship till date, in 1958 as the St. Louis Hawks. They defeated the Boston Celtics in six games in the Finals.

The team is currently coached by Quin Snyder, and is led by star players Trae Young and Dejounte Murray. Both Young and Murray have established themselves as elite scorers and playmakers in the league. In 73 games in the 2022/23 season, Young averaged 26.2 points, 3.0 rebounds and 10.2 assists per game. Meanwhile, Murray played 74 games and averaged 20.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game.
