Bismack Biyombo is a Congolese basketball player who currently plays as a back-up center for the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA. Born in Lubumbashi, Zaire, Bismack Biyombo first played professional basketball in the Spanish ACB League with Fuenlabrada at the tender age of 18, where his tremendous growth potential led him to being selected seventh overall by the Sacramento Kings in 2011. However, his draft rights were traded to the Charlotte Bobcats on draft night.

Since entering the NBA, Biyombo has established himself as a formidable rebounding big man. His 13-year NBA journey has seen him play for several NBA teams, including the Charlotte Hornets, Toronto Raptors, Orlando Magic, Phoenix Suns, Memphis Grizzlies and now the Oklahoma City Thunder.

During his long NBA career, Biyombo's one season tenure with the Toronto Raptors was quite eventful. During the 2015/16 regular season, Biyombo played a memorable game, scoring a career-high 16 points and setting a franchise record with an astonishing 25 rebounds. His contributions as a center played a pivotal role in the Raptors achieving a historic 50-win season for the first time in franchise history.

In the 2016 Eastern Conference Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers, Biyombo grabbed the Toronto Raptors franchise playoff record 26 rebounds in Game 3 as his team narrowed the series deficit to 2-1. He had another memorable moment in the Game 4 of the series when he blocked superstar LeBron James. It has become a defining moment of his career, even though the block on James was erroneously called a foul.

This unforgettable playoff performance was the reason for his big contract in 2016, when the Magic signed him to a four-year $72 million deal.
