While playing for the national team in Serbia, Boban was drafted into the NBA by San Antonio Spurs. He only played for a season for the team and was soon drafted by Detroit Pistons in a three year contract worth $21 million. He had a good time with the team till 2018, when he was drafted by Los Angeles Clippers for one year in second round draft. He also then played for the Philadelphia 76ers in 2019.

Later in 2019, Boban Marjanovic was signed with Dallas Mavericks and played for 3 years with the team. Now Boban is playing for the Houston Rockets. He was traded in exchange of Christian Wood in June 2022.
