Bol Bol's father was the legendary NBA player Manute Bol. Originally from Sudan, the 7-foot-7 centre had a decade-long NBA career. He played for teams like Washington Bullets, Miami Heat, Philadelphia 76ers and Golden State Warriors between 1985-1995. Off the court, he donated much of his NBA salary to humanitarian causes in his native Sudan.
Manute's first wife passed away, and he later remarried Ajok Kuag, who is Bol Bol's mother. According to Ajok, Bol looks exactly like his father in both appearance and personality. In an interview, she recalled her son crying about missing his father, who sadly passed away in 2010 from kidney failure. Ajok shared that Bol hopes to carry on his father's legacy of philanthropy, but wants to be smart with his money as well.
