What is Bol Bol’s Wingspan?
Bol Bol

Born in Khartoum, Sudan, Bol Bol began his basketball journey after arriving in the United States under the guidance of his father who saw potential in his son's abilities. Bol began his basketball journey with Bishop Miege and wasted no time in putting his skill set on display, drawing early offers from top NCAA Division One institutes like Kansas and Oklahoma.

In his junior and senior years, Bol averaged 18.4 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 2.6 blocks per game and shot over 60% shooting from the field. Bol graduated from Findlay Prep as a consensus five-star recruit and enrolled at the University of Oregon on June 26, 2018.

At Oregon, Bol averaged 21 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 2.7 steals a game in his freshman season but decided to forgo his remaining college eligibility and declared for the 2019 NBA Draft where he was picked 44th overall in the second round by the Denver Nuggets.

Bol Bol Wingspan

Bol Bol's wingspan measures 7 feet 8 inches in length. His long arms make him a proficient rebounder, shot blocker, and a decent scorer from mid-range, currently averaging 72% from the field for the Suns. This significant reach helped bolster Bol's effectiveness as a top high school player and even played a role in him getting scholarship offers as a sophomore.

Bol continued his dominance after joining the University of Oregon where he averaged nearly three blocks a game in the nine games he played as a rookie, making him a concerning offensive threat inside the paint.

Comparing Bol Bol’s Wingspan with other NBA Centers

Based on Bol’s key physical attributes, it would be wrong not to draw comparisons with other active and prominent NBA centers and Power Forwards. For this, we will be comparing his wingspan with Victor Wembanyama, Chet Holmgren, and Kristaps Porzingis.

Wembanyama stands 7 feet 4 inches tall and has a wingspan of approximately 8 feet whereas Bol stands 7 feet 3 inches with a wingspan measuring 7 feet 8 inches. When Bol entered the league in 2019, he was a hyped prospect but didn't create much buzz. Unlike Bol, Wembanyama has thus far performed beyond expectations and is expected to win the ROY award.

Holmgren is also playing in his rookie season and has done exceptionally well, averaging 17.4 points, and 2.6 blocks per contest. Holmgren stands two inches shorter than the Sudanese player with a 7 feet 6-inch wingspan.

Porzingis is an inch shorter than Bol at 7’2” but has found great success as a dominant center with his 7 feet 6 inch wingspan. Despite Holmgren and Porzingis being at a slight height and reach disadvantage in comparison to Bol, they have performed better and continue to play an impactful role in their team's success.

These comparisons show that Bol Bol can be a top performer but has not entirely lived up to his role. However, if he can adopt discipline into his approach, then only the sky's the limit for the Suns Center.
