Bones Hyland is a 6 ‘3’’ professional basketballer who currently plays as a point guard for the Los Angeles Clippers in the NBA. During his rookie year, the young guard demonstrated consistent performances which made him an NBA All-Rookie Second Team honoree. He averaged 10.1 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game recording 40.3% accuracy from the field.

Hyland attended Virginia Commonwealth University for his college basketball career. He represented his varsity team VCU Rams in the Atlantic 10 Conference, in his freshman season, he averaged 9.0 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game on shooting 43.3 % from the field which also includes an impressive 43.4% from the 3-point line in 31 games. He also set a freshman record by hitting 63 three-pointers. Thus, was inducted into the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team.

Hyland continued with VCU for his sophomore year and led the team in scoring. He averaged 19.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.1 assists on shooting 37.1% from the deep and was acknowledged as Atlantic 10 Player of the Year. In April 2021, he decided to forgo his remaining college and entered the NBA Draft.
