The Boston Celtics will play the LA Lakers in a nationally televised game on Thursday. These are the two most successful franchises, with 35 titles between them. Boston won its 18th championship last season, while LA has been stuck at 17 for over four years.
The Celtics will play the second leg of a back-to-back after getting a narrow 117-113 OT win against the LA Clippers on Wednesday. While Boston is expected to have tired legs on Thursday, it was already without several of its starters against the Clippers.
So, as the NBA’s two most iconic franchises face off for the first time this season, let’s look at the Celtics’ injury report.
Boston Celtics Injury Report: Key starters likely back
On Wednesday, the Celtics were without Al Horford (toe), Kristaps Porzingis (illness), and Jrue Holiday (shoulder). While they are listed as questionable for Thursday’s game, they are expected to play.

Boston arguably rested them on Wednesday, so the three don't play for two straight nights. With that said, expect starting center Porzingis and starting point guard Holiday to play in this crucial game, while Horford should come off the bench.
Jaylen Brown is also listed as day-to-day for the LA Lakers game. He rolled his ankle on Wednesday. However, after the OT win, he told reporters that he expects to play Thursday. So, with Brown likely available, the Celtics will be at full force.
More information on their status should be made available before tipoff. As of now, only Drew Peterson is out with a concussion.
