#1 Atlanta Hawks were targeting Jaylen Brown ahead of contract extension
Heading into the contract extension deadline last week, few expected Jaylen Brown to sign a new deal with the Celtics after negotiations initially broke down. Nevertheless, he eventually agreed a four-year, $115m deal and is set to play a significant long-term role for the Celtics.
Before finally penning his extension, Brown was linked to a number of teams and Shams Charania of The Athletic is reporting that the Atlanta Hawks were among the teams interested in signing the 23-year-old:

Before Pacers forward Domantas Sabonis and Celtics forward Jaylen Brown reached contract extension agreements, the Hawks were believed to be interested in either player as a restricted free agent, sources said.
So far this season, Brown has averaged 17.3 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 28.7 minutes per contest, and the Georgia native appears to be set for a big campaign after a muted third year in Boston.
