The Boston Celtics vs Milwaukee Bucks duel started with the home team trying to assert its dominance from the get-go. Giannis Antetokounmpo missed only two of 10 field goal attempts in the first quarter, finishing the first period with 19 points. He grabbed four rebounds, dished one assist and blocked one shot to take the Bucks to a 40-30 win in the first period.
Antetokounmpo continued his good performance with eight points in the second quarter, entering halftime with 27 units. He got close to a double-double with his seven rebounds while setting up four teammates to score and blocking two shots. As for the Celtics, Payton Pritchard was their best scorer with 17 points while Jaylen Brown contributed 11 units.
The Boston Celtics woke up in the third quarter, scoring 14 points in the first four minutes of the period to tie the game at 72 points. They won that quarter 29-15, taking a three-point lead ahead of the fourth quarter. The Celtics secured the win in the final period, with Jayson Tatum closing out a terrific second half for the defending champions.
The forward recorded a double-double with 31 points and 12 rebounds, adding six assists to his account. Preyton Pritchard (18), Jrue Holiday (15), Derrick White (15) and Jaylen Brown (14) were the only players who scored in double digits for the C's.
Giannis Antetokounmpo's 42 points and 13 rebounds weren't enough to move past the Celtics, who boast a 9-2 record after this game while the Bucks' crisis worsened with the eighth loss of the campaign.
