Brandon Xavier Ingram is an American small forward for the New Orleans Pelicans in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The LA Lakers drafted him with the second overall in the 2016 NBA Draft. After spending three seasons in LA, Ingram was traded to the Pelicans during the 2019 offseason in a deal involving Anthony Davis. Ingram is a one-time All-Star and also won the 2020 NBA Most Improved Player award.

Brandon Ingram competed in 45 games with the Pelicans in the 2022/23 season, averaging 24.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 0.7 steals per game. He shot 48.4% from the field, including 39.0% from deep. Ingram also achieved his first triple double last season.

Brandon Ingram NBA Teams

Brandon Ingram has played for two teams in the NBA so far — the Los Angeles Lakers and the New Orleans Pelicans.

Los Angeles Lakers (2016-2019)

Brandon Ingram started his NBA career with the Lakers on October 26, 2016. Throughout his three seasons with the team, he played 190 games and averaged 13.9 points with 4.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 0.6 steals and 0.6 blocks per game. He shot 45.8% from the field, including 32.9% from deep. Ingram was included in the NBA All-Rookie Second Team for the 2016/17 season.

During the 2017/18 season, Ingram scored 26 points along with a then career-high 11 rebounds in a victory against the Philadelphia 76ers on November 15, 2017. He has played in the NBA Rising Stars Challenge for two consecutive seasons for the 2016/17 and 2017/18. However, a groin strain and later, a neck muscle contusion sidelined him from the rest of the season.

During the 2018/19 season, Ingram managed to achieve a career high 11 assists against the OKC Thunder and a career high 36 points against the 76ers. Unfortunately for him, a deep vein thrombosis caused him to miss out the remainder of the season. The Lakers eventually traded him to the New Orleans Pelicans in the offseason of 2019.

New Orleans Pelicans (2019 - Present)

Brandon Ingram made his debut for the Pelicans in the 2019/20 season and has been a mainstay in the team for five seasons now. Throughout this time, he has played 225 games and averaged 23.7 points with 5.6 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.5 blocks per game.

During the 2021/22 season, Ingram achieved a career high of 12 assists against the Dallas Mavericks. In the 2022/23 season, Ingram achieved his first triple double with 30 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists against the Charlotte Hornets on March 24, 2023.

On March 30, 2023, he joined Chris Paul as the only players in the history of the Pelicans to have at least 30 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in more than one game.
