Brooklyn Nets vs Philadelphia 76ers preview
The Nets are coming off of a dominating 131-92 win against the Washington Wizards on Monday. Brooklyn is considered to be in a rebuilding stage after finishing last season 11th in the East with a 32-50 record. In Monday’s win, the Nets were led by Cam Thomas’ 17 points.
Ben Simmons is also healthy and has shown flashes of what he was capable of doing during his All-Star seasons. He had 11 points, five rebounds and two assists against the Wizards.
The regular season is still a week away but the Sixers are already down two of their biggest stars. Paul George hyperextended his knee against the Atlanta Hawks on Monday, while Joel Embiid is out until the start of the season as well. As per ESPN’s Tim Bontemps, during the regular season, Embiid won’t play in both games of back-to-back sets and will wear a knee brace.
George’s MRI didn’t show any structural damage but he is without a clear return timeline. He is expected to be re-evaluated in a week’s time.
