Chavano Rainer "Buddy" Hield is a Bahamian small forward/shooting guard who plays for the Philadelphia 76ers in the National Basketball Association (NBA).

Born December 17, 1992, in Freeport, Bahamas, Hield attended the Sunrise Christian Academy, in Kansas for high school, and the University of Oklahoma for college. In four college seasons, Hield won the Big 12 Player of the Year twice.

The New Orleans Pelicans selected Hield with the sixth overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft. However, he was traded to the Sacramento Kings midway in his rookie season. After averaging 10.6 points and 3.3 rebounds, Hield was named on the All-Rookie First Team.

Known for his sharpshooting skills, Hield won the Three-Point Contest in 2020, defeating Devin Booker 27–26 in the final round. The next season on February 28, 2021, Hield became the fastest player in NBA history to make 1,000 3-pointers, in just 350 games. He also scored his career-high 42 points in the 2020/21 season. After six seasons with the Kings, Hield was traded to the Indiana Pacers.

The 2023/24 season is the final year of Hield’s four-year $94 million contract. He is due to become an unrestricted free agent in the 2024 offseason.

As part of the deal, the Pacers received Korkmaz, Doug McDermott from the San Antonio Spurs, and some draft picks and cash. Meanwhile, the Spurs got Marcus Morris from the 76ers, along with a draft pick and cash.
