WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark engaged in playful banter with her former Iowa teammate Jada Gyamfi on Tuesday. The exchange began when Gyamfi shared a post on Instagram, giving fans a glimpse of her leisure adventures. The Iowa forward shared a series of photos accompanied by a concise caption.

"RIP Derek Shepard, you would’ve loved me," she wrote.

Clark, known for her frequent interactions with former and current teammates on social media, was quick to join the conversation. The Indiana Fever point guard commented on Gyamfi’s post, playfully suggesting that her former teammate should focus more on basketball and less on adventures.

"@caitlinclark22 you’re literally so annoying," Gyamfi replied.

Clark and Gyamfi shared two seasons as teammates with the Iowa Hawkeyes before Clark was selected as the No. 1 pick by the Indiana Fever in 2024. During their time together, the two players formed a close bond, celebrating victories and enduring defeats side by side.

Gyamfi has also openly discussed her relationship with Clark, highlighting the strong connection they built during their tenure at Iowa.

"Caitlin was an easy one cause we could sit and laugh for hours," Gyamfi said on "Talking Hawks with the VandeBergs" in 2024. She's really funny. I'm really funny and I knew her kind of coming into this," she said back then.

Caitlin Clark opens up on why she picked Iowa

Caitlin Clark recently discussed her decision to choose Iowa over other schools during her appearance on Travis and Jason Kelce's "New Heights" podcast. The Fever star candidly shared that her choice was largely influenced by her desire to stay close to her hometown of Des Moines.

"I basically narrowed it down pretty early on when I was going through my college recruitment that I wanted to be in the Midwest, just kind of a homebody, family person, just wanted to stay fairly close to home, so that narrowed a lot of the stuff down," Clark said.

Clark spent four years at Iowa, shattering numerous records and carried her record-breaking form into the WNBA, where the dynamic point guard continued to make history in her rookie season.
