Maybe not but we'll never know. Unfortunately, a talent of his caliber does not have the Playoffs accomplishments that set him apart from everybody else. He isn't an NBA Champion, actually, he hasn't even reached the NBA Finals even once in his career. But he will always be the player to have scored the most number of points in a single game at the Garden - 62 points.
It was an unbelievable night. As the stat line above suggests, Melo literally did not but score and rebound the ball but what he did do, was of the exceptional nature. 62 points while grabbing 13 rebounds at a shooting clip of 65.7% shooting is almost unheard of. The Charlotte Bobcats (now Hornets) had absolutely no answer for him because this was Melo at his absolute scoring peak. Not a lot of teams have an answer when he plays at that level.
