Charlamagne tha God's unusual top-five NBA list that sees LeBron James ranked lower than Steph Curry has invited fans' wrath. The radio host made the rare list public when asked about it on former New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony's podcast, "7 PM in Brooklyn."

Anthony, his co-host Mero and Charlamagne hailed Curry's greatness on the show after his exploits in the USA Men's Basketball's semifinal and final games at the 2024 Paris Olympics. That prompted Charlamagne to announce his top five.

"I got Steph in my top five," Charlamagne tha God said (via NBA Central on X). "I actually got Steph No. 3 ... My top five is Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Steph Curry, Bron and Magic Johnson. Steph has changed all (of) basketball."

LeBron James usually makes the top two or three on everyone's list next to Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant in no specific order, according to many. That sparked infuriating reactions from several fans, who vehemently disagreed with Charlamagne putting Steph Curry over the LA Lakers superstar.

"Never speak on ball again," wrote one fan.
"Kobe and curry over LeBron? Never rank any list again," added another.

Another user called Charlamagne a "hater:"

"Having Steph Curry over LeBron James is diabolical lol, you have to be a HATER to do that."

Carmelo Anthony ranks Steph Curry as best point guard ever

Steph Curry's status as a top-five player can be debatable, but he has probably cemented himself as the greatest point guard and shooter in the NBA. Carmelo Anthony was the latest to approve that label for Curry.

"He's the greatest shooter I've ever seen," Melo said on his podcast. "He's a hell of a player like, f**k best shooting, f**k best best point (guard), he's one of the greatest players to ever grace this game.
"And I don't think we probably would ever see this again. So we better appreciate this window of what we have with Steph."

Anthony saw Curry's rise in the league and is fresh of seeing him at the Olympics. Sitting courtside for the USA games, Melo witnessed Curry's masterclass in the semifinals and finals games, where the Americans rode behind the four-time champion's back to win the gold medal.

They were down 17 in the first half against Serbia in the semis, but Curry's 36 points helped them complete the comeback. The USA and France had a one-possession game separating them in the finals in the last three minutes, but Curry's four consecutive triples in the clutch sealed the USA's win. He had 24 in that contest, another team-high.
