Charles Lee is an American basketball coach who has been serving as the head coach of the Charlotte Hornets in the NBA since 2024. He was born on November 11, 1984, in Washington, D.C., and grew up in Gaithersburg, Maryland where he also completed high schooling at Quince Orchard. Lee had a college basketball career playing for Bucknell University, where he was a guard for the Bucknell Bison men's basketball team. He helped lead the team to two consecutive NCAA tournaments and two Patriot League Championships.

After graduating from Bucknell in 2006, Lee pursued a professional basketball career. Despite going undrafted in 2006, he played for various teams such as Hapoel Gilboa/Afula in Israel, R.B.C. Verviers-Pepinster, BG Göttingen, and Artland Dragons. In 2012, Lee transitioned his career into coaching and began his career as an assistant coach for several NBA teams. On May 9, 2024, Charles Lee was hired as the head coach of the Charlotte Hornets. Charles Lee has achieved significant success as an assistant coach in the NBA, earning two NBA championships during his career. His first championship came in 2021 with the Milwaukee Bucks, where he played a key role in the team's coaching staff that helped lead them to victory in the NBA Finals. In 2024, Charles Lee won his second NBA championship as an assistant coach, this time with the Boston Celtics.
