The Chennai Slam completed an epic comeback to beat the Bengaluru Beast 72-67 in the second game of the day in the UBA Championship held at the Gachibowli Stadium in Hyderabad.
It was the Beast who took the early advantage, courtesy consecutive baskets by Sahu. Agu, who has played a key role for the Slam thus far in the tournament, looked off colour in the initial stages.
The Beast maintained that lead over the Slams and eventually finished the first half with a 12-point lead at 36-24.
The second half saw the Slam storm back into the match with a vengeance as they began to put pressure on the Beast with regular baskets. They finished the quarter with the tables turned in their favour at 53-50.
Such was the impact of that quarter on the Beast that they simply couldn't muster enough fight in the final quarter as the Slam, courtesy Ram’s 3-pointers, completed an excellent come-from-behind victory.
Final Scoreline: Chennai Slam beat Bengaluru Beast 72-67.
