Chet Thomas Holmgren is a professional basketball player who plays for the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA as of March 2025. Holmgren was selected as the second overall pick by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2022 NBA draft. In his summer league debut, he averaged 23 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and six blocks. However, an ankle injury during a Drew League game forced him to miss the entire 2022-23 season. Holmgren finally made his NBA debut in October 2023, against the Chicago Bulls. Two days later, he set a Thunder rookie record with seven blocks in a game where he also recorded 16 points and 13 rebounds. In his rookie season in the NBA, Holmgren averaged 16.5 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks per game.

Before joining the NBA, Holmgren was enrolled at Gonzaga University, where he committed in 2021. In his college debut, Holmgren showcased his versatility with 14 points, 13 rebounds, seven blocks, and six assists. During his freshman year at Gonzaga, he maintained strong averages of 14.1 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 3.7 blocks per game, helping his team reach the Final Four in the 2022 NCAA tournament. He was named the WCC Defensive Player of the Year and after just one year in the college, he let go of his remaining college career and declared for the NBA draft in 2022. Holmgren has been instrumental in the Thunders's success over the past couple of years as he has formed a dynamic duo with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
