Chinise Taipei outclass India
India lost its second game in a row as it went down 70 – 111 in Level 1 match in day 2 of the ongoing 22nd FIBA ASIA U18 Championship for women, which is underway at Amman, Jordan. Chinese Taipei took the first three quarters 34 – 15, 31 – 23 and 32 – 15 respectively, while India won the last quarter 17 – 14. But the last quarter effort from India was too late to comeback in the match and Chinese Taipei won the match 111 – 70.
In other level 1 matches of day 2 of the championship, China beat Thailand 91 – 26 and Japan beat Korea 60 – 57.

In the level two match of day 2, Sri Lanka registered their second win of the championship. Sri Lanka defeated Kyrgyzstan 70 – 44. In other level 2 matches, Hong Kong beat Kazakhstan 78 – 63 and Malaysia beat Jordan 89 – 42.
22nd FIBA ASIA U18 Championship for women is played in two levels. Elite level one consists of six teams – China, India, Japan, Korea, Thailand and Chinese Taipei while six other teams – Hong Kong, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia and Sri Lanka – will play in Qualifying Level II with the top two teams having a shot at qualifying for next edition’s Level I competition.
The 22nd FIBA Asia U18 Championship for Women is the qualifying event for the 2015 FIBA U19 World Championship for Women to be played in Russia. The top three teams from the 22nd FIBA Asia U18 Championship for Women will represent FIBA Asia at the 2015 FIBA U19 World Championship for Women.
