In July 2023, the Sacramento Kings acquired Chris Duarte from the Indiana Pacers, in exchange for two second-round picks. The deal happened during the off-season, as the Kings wanted to add squad depth in their backcourt.

Since joining the Kings, Duarte has played most of his minutes as a small-forward, displaying his versatility. He has averaged 3.9 points and 1.8 rebounds in 12.2 minutes per game.

In the 2023/24 season, he saw his role shrink a bit as the Pacers gave a bigger role to All-Star Tyrese Haliburton, Bennedict Mathurin and Bruce Brown. Due to this, Duarte was pushed down in the Pacers rotation.
