Chris Paul is a professional basketball point guard for the San Antonio Spurs. In June 2024, he was waived off by the Golden State Warriors after playing in the 2023-24 season. Born on May 6, 1985, the North Carolina native attended West Forsyth High School and was named after the McDonald's All-American. After this, he attended Wake Forest University from 2003 to 2005. In the 2005 NBA Draft, he was selected with the fourth overall pick by the New Orleans Hornets (now Pelicans). Since then he has played with the Los Angeles Clippers (2011-17), Houston Rockets (2017-19), Oklahoma City Thunder (2019-20), Phoenix Suns (2020-23), and Golden State Warriors (2023-24).

Furthermore, Paul has been chosen for nine NBA All-Defensive teams, 12 NBA All-Star teams, and 11 All-NBA teams. From 2013 until 2021, Paul presided over the National Basketball Players Association as its president. He is one of the world's top-paid athletes, having endorsement agreements with brands like State Farm and Jordan Brand. In his nearly 20-year career, he had played in 1,272 games, starting 1,232 and averaging 17.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 9.4 assists, 2.1 steals and an 87% free throw.
