Christian Wood is a power forward for the Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The veteran was signed by the Philadelphia 76ers in 2015 after going undrafted in 2015. Before the Lakers, Wood has played for the Philadelphia 76ers, Charlotte Hornets, Milwaukee Bucks, New Orleans Pelicans, Detroit Pistons, Houston Rockets and the Dallas Mavericks.

Wood is notable for being the first player in the history of the Mavericks to have at least 25 points in his first two games. He played 67 games for the Mavericks in the 2022/23 season and averaged 16.6 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.1 blocks per game. He shot 51.5% from the field, including 37.6% from deep.

This offseason, he signed a two-year deal, including a player option for the 2024/25 season with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Wood will hope to have a good postseason run in his first season with the Lakers in 2023/24 season.

Christian Wood Age

Born in Long Beach, California, United States on September 27, 1995, Christian Wood is 28 years old as of 2023. He debuted in the NBA at the age of 20 years and the 2023/24 season is his ninth in the NBA.

Why does Christian Wood wear number 35?

Christian Woord has worn #35 for every NBA team so far. This number is a tribute to his childhood best friend Antwan Robertson, who sadly passed away while playing basketball at 13 years old because of an asthma attack.

On draft night in 2015, Wood found an old text from his late friend on an old cell phone. The message advised him to dream his dreams with his eyes closed, but to live his dreams with his eyes open. Eventually, he got the message tattooed on his right forearm. He gets to see the message every time he jumps and it inspires him to keep going with his career in the NBA.
