The Cleveland Cavaliers are off to a hot start and have gone undefeated in the first 13 games to sit atop the NBA standings. This has been because of a combined team effort. Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley are key elements to the team and both feature on the Cavs’ injury report for Friday’s 2024 Emirates NBA Cup game against the Chicago Bulls.

Jarrett Allen is listed as probable with a lower left leg strain. He was listed as questionable before the game against the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday but was able to play. In 32 minutes against the Sixers, Allen scored 11 points and 12 rebounds.

The injury has continued to impact Allen in the past few matchups, but it hasn’t forced him out of the lineup yet. That’s unlikely to happen on Friday as well with his probable status. In 13 games this season, the center is averaging 13.3 points, 10.7 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game.

Meanwhile, Evan Mobley is probable for the game as well with an illness. He was dealing with the illness even before the Philly game, as coach Kenny Atkinson told reporters that he would be a game-time decision. Mobley was able to play through the illness and scored 14 points.

The fourth-year power forward has not missed a game this season and is currently going through a breakout year. He is one of the defensive anchors for the team and is among the favorites for the Defensive Player of the Year award. In 13 games so far, he averages 17.8 ppg (career-high), 8.6 rpg and 1.5 bpg.

Cleveland Cavaliers injury report: Who else is not playing?

Expect both Allen and Mobley to play on Friday. However, the Cleveland Cavaliers are expected to be without Max Strus (hip), Emoni Bates (torn meniscus in left knee) and Sam Merrill (ankle).

On the other hand, the Bulls have injury concerns of their own and will be without Lonzo Ball (right wrist). Adama Sanogo is probable with a knee issue.
