Cleveland Cavaliers vs Milwaukee Bucks preview

The Cavaliers couldn’t buy a win in the preseason as they went winless. However, there’s a reason why a lot cannot be read into a team’s performance in the preseason, as Cleveland is 6-0 to start the season. What’s more interesting is that the Cavs have defeated their opponents by an average of 17 points.

They are coming off of a 120-109 win against the Orlando Magic on Friday. Darius Garland had 25 points, while Donovan Mitchell had 22 points.

The wheels are already starting to come off Milwaukee's season and how. When the Bucks traded for Lillard in the summer of 2023, the expectation was to create a duo that would take the 2021 champions to another title. Jrue Holiday, whom Milwaukee had to give up to land Lillard, played a key role in the Boston Celtics’ championship run last season, while the Bucks lost in the first round.

Milwaukee’s poor start to the season could be credited to a lot of moving elements. However, the most important has to be Damian Lillard’s shooting form as he has shot just 26.7% from the 3-point line so far. In the Bucks’ most recent 122-99 loss on Thursday, Antetokounmpo had 37 points and 11 rebounds, while Lillard could muster just four points on 1-of-12 shooting.

Cleveland Cavaliers vs Milwaukee Bucks betting props

Donovan Mitchell’s points total is set at 24.5. He averages 27.6 points per game against the Bucks in 17 games. Expect Mitchell to continue his good form on Saturday.

Damian Lillard’s 3-points total is set at 3.5. While he has struggled from beyond the arc to start the season, he is due for a breakout game. His shooting prowess is known to all and the game against Cleveland is as good as any for him to break out of his slump. Bet on the over here.

Cleveland Cavaliers vs Milwaukee Bucks prediction

The oddsmakers favor the Bucks to get a close win at home. We, however, predict the Cavs to add on Milwaukee’s misery and get their seventh straight win of the season. While this has the potential to be a high-scoring game, the team total should stay under 233.5 points.
