Cleveland Cavaliers vs New York Knicks: Key matchups
Cavaliers guards vs Knicks guards
The Cavaliers have one of the best backcourt duos in Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland. The Knicks aren’t far behind with Jalen Brunson. New York coach Tom Thibodeau has been playing Mikal Bridges as a shooting guard, who can contribute on both ends of the floor. Whichever backcourt plays better on the night should give its team the win.
Karl-Anthony Towns vs Cleveland bigs
New York wanted to fortify its center position with Towns as Mitchell Robinson will be out at the beginning of the season. This was one of the primary reasons why the Knicks gave up on Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo.
While Towns has been solid in the first two games, he could have a tough time going up against the Cavs’ Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley. If Allen and Mobley can limit KAT’s offensive production, Cleveland has a shot at upsetting the home team on Monday.
