Clippers unveil Halo at Intuit Dome: 3 unique features & additional details

#1 Home court advantage for the Clippers

The Halo Board is also built to give a technological edge to its team in any game. As the board is two-sided, fans and even coaches can see everything on the board just by sitting at any place in the arena. The Halo Board will show any replay from every single angle on its large board.

“Look,” Ballmer said, “if we can get multi-angle replays up [on the Halo Board] when coaches try to decide whether to challenge or not? Yeah, baby! That’s part of helping the team win.”

NBA coaches sometimes fail to challenge a call by the officials because they can’t see every angle in the short time they have been allowed to challenge. With every angle of the play being replayed on the screen simultaneously, Tyronn Lue will have an easy time taking his call. Of course, the home team will not give this advantage to visiting teams.

#2 Fans can play games on Halo Board from their seats

The team decided to make seats in the arena more than just a space to land the posterior. Each seat in the arena has game controllers and LED pointers. Through these game controllers, fans can engage in games such as predictive guessing games, and trivia, on the Halo Board.

For each fan who is eliminated from the game, the LED light of his/her seat will go dark. In the end, the fan whose LED hasn’t gone dark will be declared the winner. This is a near-perfect gaming experience.

#3 Clippers players will now throw t-shirts at Clippers fans

There is a reason that Steve Ballmer is a billionaire. The team owner thinks business but never cheats on his customers. He has seen t-shirts tossed in the arena and didn’t like the fact that fans in the farthest row couldn’t get a shot at catching them. He found a solution.

The Halo Board has inbuilt t-shirt cannons that will throw t-shirts to even fans sitting in the last row. Even better, the Halo Board will also show Clipper players mimicking throwing t-shirts and the Halo Board will show as if these players are originally throwing the t-shirts.
