
Cody Zeller is an American professional basketball player who has played for the New Orleans Pelicans in the NBA. Entering the 2013 NBA Draft after his sophomore season, Zeller was selected with the 4th overall pick by the Charlotte Hornets. Zeller appeared in all 82 games of his rookie year, averaging 6.0 points and 4.3 rebounds in only 17.3 minutes per game. Zeller played for 8 seasons with the Hornets. In 2021, Zeller was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers but was waived by the Trail Blazers in February 2022. For the 2022-23 season, Zeller played for the Miami Heat. He was part of the Miami Heat when they reached the NBA Finals, but the team lost to the Denver Nuggets. In July 2023, Zeller was signed by the New Orleans Pelicans and was then traded to the Atlanta Hawks and the Houston Rockets, but he was later waived by the Houston Rockets in March 2025.
Before joining the NBA, Zeller went to Indiana University. As a freshman at Indiana University, he averaged 15.6 points per game, and in his sophomore year, he averaged 16.5 points and 8.0 rebounds. Zeller was named a First Team All-American. Zeller played two seasons for Indiana University after coming from Washington High School.
