In his senior season, he averaged 31 points per game. As a four-star recruit in high school, Swider chose to play college basketball at Villanova.

Since going pro, Swider has signed two-way contracts with four different NBA teams. After the LA Lakers, Miami Heat, Indiana Pacers, and the Detroit Pistons are his fourth NBA team.
