The Dallas Mavericks and the Miami Heat will renew their rivalry on Sunday as the Mavs visit Kaseya Center. The Heat have lost five of their last eight games, while the Mavs are riding a four-game winning streak. The tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET.

The Dallas outfit has seemingly righted the ship after its surprise loss to the Utah Jazz last week. With two back-to-back wins under its belt, the team is showing the grit and quality that propelled it into the NBA Finals last term. The Mavs will hope to leave Miami unscathed, as they are well aware of the issues that the hosts may pose.

In contrast, Miami's form over this season has raised the question of whether or not this team can make another playoff run. After alternating wins and losses over the past seven games, they remain a picture of inconsistency despite Tyler Herro's hot start to the season.

The 24-year-old guard has been in scintillating form this season, leading the team in points and assists, averaging 24.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game. And he could be the key to the Heat picking up the win on Sunday.

Luka Doncic remains on the sidelines with a wrist injury suffered during their blowout win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Nov. 20. He is expected to be re-evaluated in a week. Meanwhile, Daniel Gafford remains a doubt with a shoulder issue, and Dante Exum will not feature as he continues to recover from surgery.

Jason Kidd may wish to begin resting players ahead of a busy month but is unlikely to make any drastic changes.

P.J. Washington, Dereck Lively II, Kyrie Irving, Klay Thompson and Quentin Grimes could be the starting five on Sunday.

Miami Heat Predicted Starting Lineup and Depth Chart

The Heat looks likely to also remain unchanged this weekend. However, coach Erik Spoelstra might consider player fitness levels as the team returns from a four-day break and faces three games before the end of the month.

Dru Smith is listed as out with a knee injury. Jimmy Butler also looks a doubt but may be back in contention as he’s listed as questionable due to illness. Terry Rozier is probable despite dealing with a foot injury.

Barring any changes, this could be the lineup Spoelstra starts against the Mavs on Sunday: Duncan Robinson, Haywood Highsmith, Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro.
