Dallas Mavericks vs Minnesota Timberwolves Top 10 player props available for 2024 NBA playoffs Game 5 (May 30)

Game 5 of the Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Timberwolves' Western Conference finals series tips off Thursday in Minneapolis. Leading 3-1, Dallas will attempt to eliminate Minnesota for the second consecutive contest.

The Mavericks saw a prime opportunity to secure a close-out victory slip away during Tuesday's 105-100 Game 4 home loss. Their superstar backcourt of Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving had a rare off shooting night, combining for 44 points on just 33.3% shooting.

Meanwhile, Timberwolves stars Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns delivered their best offensive performances of the series, combining for 54 points on 52.6% shooting.

Nonetheless, Dallas has been the better offensive team throughout most of Round 3, with Minnesota regularly struggling to keep up in close games. Meanwhile, the Mavericks have matched the defensive intensity of the league's No. 1 defensive team.

Dallas is 2-0 on the road in the series. So, the Mavericks should have a decent chance to redeem themselves by stealing another road victory despite being +5.0-point underdogs. However, the Timberwolves are unlikely to go down without a fight after overcoming a 3-2 series deficit against the defending champion Denver Nuggets in Round 2.

On that note, here are 10 intriguing player props available ahead of Thursday's Game 5 clash.

Dallas Mavericks vs Minnesota Timberwolves Top 10 Game 5 player props

#10 Rudy Gobert under 10.5 rebounds (+120)

Despite being the best rebounder in the West finals, Timberwolves star center Rudy Gobert has accumulated 10 or fewer rebounds in all four games thus far.

He has struggled with foul trouble and the Mavericks' smaller lineups playing him off the court. So, there's no reason to expect a standout rebounding performance from the three-time All-Star in Game 5.

#9 Luka Doncic over 30.5 points (+100)

Doncic is coming off his lowest-scoring outing of the West finals, tallying 28 points in Game 4. However, he scored 32 or more points in the series' first three contests and is averaging 31.5 points per game through four appearances. So, the five-time All-Star should be primed for a bounce-back performance on Thursday.

#8 Anthony Edwards over 28.5 points (+100)

After a slow West finals start, Edwards continued gaining momentum in Game 4, finishing with a series-high 29 points. He has increased his scoring output in all four games thus far. Minnesota will likely need him to do so again to stave off elimination in Game 5.

#7 Luka Doncic over 3.5 3-pointers (-110)

Doncic has tallied four or more 3-pointers in three consecutive games, including during his rough shooting night in Game 4. If he has a redemption performance on Thursday, he will likely get hot from the outside at some point during the contest.

#6 Karl-Anthony Towns under 20.5 points (-113)

While Towns erupted for a series-high 25 points on Tuesday, he has been an extremely streaky scorer this postseason. He scored below 20 points in six of his previous eight outings. So, the Mavericks will likely prevent him from replicating his Game 4 performance.

#5 Naz Reid over 10.5 points (-113)

2024 Sixth Man of the Year Naz Reid mustered up a series-low six points in Game 4. However, he scored 14-plus points in his previous three outings, including a team-high 23-point Game 2 effort in Minnesota. So, he should get back on track at home in Game 5.

#4 Kyrie Irving over 22.5 points (-129)

Irving has alternated between good and bad shooting performances through four West finals outings, scoring 30-plus points in Games 1 and 3. He recorded a series-low 16 points in Game 4, resulting in his first career close-out game loss (14-1). So, the eight-time All-Star should be motivated for redemption in Game 5.

#3 Anthony Edwards over 6.5 assists (-146)

Despite not being known as a playmaker, Edwards has recorded seven-plus assists in all four West finals contests thus far. The two-time All-Star is averaging a team-high 8.3 assists per game for the series. So, with Timberwolves veteran point guard Mike Conley (Achilles) questionable for Game 5, he could take on another heavy playmaking responsibility.

#2 Daniel Gafford over 1.5 blocks (-148)

Mavericks center Daniel Gafford has provided elite rim protection in the West finals, racking up three-plus blocks in three straight games. That includes a five-block Game 2 performance in Minnesota. So, his strong interior defense should continue on Thursday.

#1 Karl-Anthony Towns under 2.5 3-pointers (-175)

Despite hitting four 3s in Game 4, Towns hasn't had many high-volume 3-point shooting performances this postseason. He knocked down two or fewer 3s in his previous seven appearances. So, the four-time All-Star seems unlikely to have another lights-out shooting night in Game 5.
