The quarterfinals of the 2024 Emirates NBA Cup begin on Tuesday, and one of the scheduled matchups is the Dallas Mavericks vs OKC Thunder. The Mavericks prevailed in their first meeting of the season on Nov. 17, beating the OKC Thunder 121-119 without Luka Doncic.
Dallas qualified for the quarterfinals as the Western Conference wildcard, beating the Phoenix Suns via point differential. They finished second in West Group C, behind the Golden State Warriors, and will travel to the Paycom Center for a chance at advancing to Las Vegas.
Meanwhile, the Thunder are the favorites to win the Emirates NBA Cup after finishing atop West Group B. They also own the best record in the West, at 18-5, but can't seem to beat the Mavs when it matters. They were eliminated by Dallas in the second round of last season's playoffs.
