The Dallas Mavericks (20-12) are on the road to finish the year as they travel to the Sacramento Kings (13-19) in one of the NBA matchups on Monday. After a mixed festive period for both teams, this game offers the Mavericks a chance to finish the year on a high and bolster their position in the standings. Meanwhile, the Kings could find new motivation to make a statement in front of their home fans following the unsavory firing of coach Mike Brown.
The Kings come into this game on the back of a frustrating six-game losing streak, including a 3-0 sweep by the Lakers within just eight days. These results have allowed the Phoenix Suns and San Antonio Spurs to leapfrog them in the standings, leaving them fourth from the bottom and screaming for an urgent win.
Meanwhile, the Mavs enter the game looking to recover from a heartbreaking 122-126 defeat against the Portland Trail Blazers. Kyrie Irving scored 46 points in Luka Doncic's absence, but the team fell short, suffering their third loss in six games and will be eager to make things right on Monday night.
This will be the first meeting between the two teams. Last season, both teams split the wins with 2-2.

Dallas Mavericks vs Sacramento Kings Predicted Starting Lineups and Depth Chart for Dec. 30
Dallas Mavericks Predicted Starting Lineups and Depth Chart
The fitness of Mavericks center Dereck Lively II remains uncertain as he's listed as questionable once again with a hip injury. Lively missed the Mavs' last two games and his status for Saturday's game could be decided closer to tip-off.
Meanwhile, Luka Doncic remains in recovery with an estimated time of his return not being given, and Dante Exum continues to recover from wrist surgery.
Coach Jason Kidd started Maxi Kleber and Spencer Dinwiddie in place of PJ Washington and Naji Marshall due to suspensions following the altercation during the Suns game.
PJ Washington's suspension was only one game, compared to Marshall's four-game suspension, so he may return to the lineup alongside Daniel Gafford, Kyrie Irving, Klay Thompson and Maxi Kleber.
Sacramento Kings Predicted Starting Lineups and Depth Chart
For the Kings, only Jae Crowder is listed as questionable with a back injury. Interim coach Doug Christie will have a mostly healthy roster to choose from.
He’s unlikely to make any sweeping changes to the lineup. The core will likely remain centered around Domantas Sabonis, DeMar DeRozan, Keegan Murray, De'Aaron Fox, and Malik Monk.
