The Milwaukee Bucks' point guard, Damian Lillard, was born on July 15, 1990. In the first round of the 2012 NBA Draft, he was selected sixth by the Portland Trail Blazers. Before being transferred to the Bucks in 2023, he spent 11 seasons with the Trail Blazers. His ability to make clutch shots has earned him the nickname "Dame Time." In 2012, while playing college basketball for the Weber State Wildcats, he was selected to the third-team All-American team. He was selected as the 2012–13 NBA Rookie of the Year. He has been chosen for the All-NBA Teams and the NBA All-Star team eight times, including in 2024, and is the team's all-time leading scorer.

In 2021, Lillard represented the United States at the Summer Olympics and took home a gold medal. In the same year, he was named to the NBA's 75th Anniversary Team. Off the court, he also performs as a rapper under the stage name Dame D.O.L.L.A. The Letter O (2016), his first studio album, reached the top of the Billboard 200. Confirmed (2017) and Big D.O.L.L.A. (2019), his later albums, were indie charts. Different on Levels the Lord Allowed, his fourth album, came out in 2021. He has started 842 games during his 12 NBA seasons, averaging 25.1 points, 6.7 assists, and 4.2 rebounds.

Damian Lillard's Trade

In a three-team deal that also included the Phoenix Suns, the Portland Trail Blazers traded guard Damian Lillard to the Milwaukee Bucks in September 2023. According to the teams' release, Portland also received Jrue Holiday, Deandre Ayton, and Toumani Camara, Milwaukee's 2029 unprotected first-round draft pick, and unprotected Milwaukee swap rights in 2028 and 2030. The Suns' trade package includes Keon Johnson, Nassir Little, Jusuf Nurkic, and Grayson Allen.

Months after Lillard formally asked to be traded in early July, the Blazers chose to negotiate patiently, and a trade was reached. After 11 seasons in which he guided the team to eight postseason appearances, including a Western Conference final appearance in 2018-19, and made seven All-Star and All-NBA teams, Lillard departs Portland. In terms of points, 3-pointers, and assists, he leads the team in its history.
