Danny Granger's NBA career ended in 2015. He averaged 6.3 points in 30 games for the Miami Heat during his final season. He's been mostly out of the spotlight since his retirement. But he is back in the news due to his alleged involvement in a threesome.
There are a lot of rumors about the former All-Star, but no one knows the truth. These rumors came to light because of a comedy sketch called 'Ex in the NBA' by Brittany Schmitt.
It's been more than seven years since we last saw Granger play basketball. Let's take a look at why he's trending and where these rumors originated.

Danny Granger and the threesome controversy
In July 2022, Brittany Schmitt released a stand-up routine that went viral. The comedian received millions of views on the video. It became very popular among NBA fans.
In the video, Schmitt jokes about a former NBA player she hooked up with years ago. The player eventually called her up and revealed that he became a Jehovah's Witness. He also asked the comedian to repent for her sins.
There aren't too many former players that are Jehovah's Witnesses. Brittany Schmitt also narrowed it down by saying that the player was light-skinned. This is when everyone started to believe it was Danny Granger.
Granger was baptized in 2018, a few years after retiring from the NBA.
In her video, the comedian revealed a couple of things she did with the former NBA player. She said that she had a threesome with the player and his cousin, Keith.
"He called to tell me that now he’s a Jehovah’s Witness and I should repent. Then he said, 'Brittany, this is life-changing stuff,'" Schmitt said in her video.
"And I said, 'So is that threesome we had with your cousin Keith.'"
Many NBA fans have joked about Danny Granger and Keith. In reality, no one knows if the cousin even exists.
It's important to note that it was a joke written by a comedian. Nobody knows how much of the truth Brittany Schmitt is telling. She could be completely fabricating the story, or exaggerating it for comedic purposes.
Other NBA players who are Jehovah's Witnesses
Aside from Danny Granger, there are a few more NBA players who are Jehovah's Witnesses. Granger's former teammate, Darren Collison, is one of them.
We've discussed this in detail in our article here: 3 NBA players who are Jehovah's witnesses
Collison retired at the age of 31 to focus on his faith. The point guard eventually returned to the NBA. He played in three games with the LA Lakers last season. He is currently under contract with the South Bay Lakers. They are the G-League affiliate of the LA Lakers.
Dewayne Dedmon is another well-known player who follows the religion. Dedmon is a nine-year NBA veteran who averaged 6.3 points and 5.8 rebounds for the Miami Heat last season.
