Dante Liman Exum began playing basketball as a junior for the Keilor Basketball Academy and later attended Lake Ginninderra secondary college in Canberra. Having been exposed to Australian Football at an early age, Dante was always fascinated by the game and continues to love the sport. He was aware of his skills and knowledge playing Basketball so he decided to put all his efforts into going pro.

The Nike Hoop Summit has served to be the perfect platform for young athletes to test themselves and their potential. As a result, in April of 2013, Dante decided to compete in the showcase tournament and show his potential, Scoring three rebounds, sixteen points, and two assists.

After helping Ginninderra win the trophy in the Australian National High School Basketball Championship in 2013, he graduated high school and made the big decision to skip College Basketball and enter the 2014 NBA Draft. To the surprise of many, he was picked fifth overall in the Draft and began his professional career with the Utah Jazz.
