Bydgoszcz, Poland -- Poland's Mateusz Ponitka's 17 points and 7 rebounds proved to be effective against a Hungarian defence, winning the game for the Polish squad 70-60 in the FIBA World Cup qualifiers in the European region.

Hungary's leading scorer was Zoltan Perl with 18 points, but that wasn't enough to close the 10-point gap between the two teams. The Polish team were better at passing the ball, notching 17 assists, compared to Hungary's 8. Poland's next game is against Lithuania while Hungary face off against newcomers Kosovo.
