Amman, JORDAN-- In an evenly contested match between border rivals, Iraq pulled away from the Islamic Republic of Iran, winning 74-66. Demario Aquan Mayfield of Iraq pulled off a double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds in the victory over the Iranians.

Farid Aslani led Iran with 16 points in the loss. Iraq's next game is against Kazakhstan while Iran face off against Qatar.
