DeAnthony Melton, a professional basketball player for the Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA, has earned the nickname "Mr. Do Something" for his exceptional on-court contributions.

Melton started his basketball journey at Crespi Carmelite High School in Encino, California. He led his school team to back-to-back title wins, and he was the top scorer for the school of all-time.

As a three-star recruit, Melton committed to the USC Trojans on November 20, 2015. During his junior season, he became a key player for the Trojans, achieving an impressive feat as the first freshman since Dwyane Wade to record at least 300 points, 150 rebounds, 100 assists, 60 steals, and 35 blocks in their starting season.

However, Melton's sophomore season was marred by controversy as he was suspended due to an investigation in the college basketball scandal. Consequently, he withdrew from USC and declared for the 2018 NBA Draft, where he was selected as the 46th overall pick by the Houston Rockets, although his rights were later traded to the Phoenix Suns.

Despite playing only one season with the Phoenix Suns, Melton showcased his defensive prowess by finishing second in steals during his rookie year. In 2019, Melton was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies. In three seasons, Melton played a key role for the team to lead them to two consecutive playoff appearances.

In 2022, De'Anthony Melton was then traded to the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for Danny Green. During the 2022-23 season, he had one of his best seasons, averaging 1.6 steals, 10.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game.
