Deandre Edoneille Ayton Sr. is a professional basketball Center who plays for the Portland Trail Blazers in the NBA as of November 2024. His basketball journey began at Balboa School in California. He played basketball at Balboa for two years before transferring to Hillcrest Prep Academy in Phoenix, Arizona. At Arizona Wildcats, Ayton earned a spot on the All-American First Team alongside fellow freshmen Marvin Bagley III and Trae Young.

In 2018, Ayton drafted his name for the NBA Draft. The Phoenix Suns selected him as the first overall pick in the NBA draft, making him the franchise's first-ever No. 1 selection. His first year was remarkable: the young player scored 14.5 points and grabbed 10.5 rebounds a game; therefore, he became a member of the 2019 All-Rookie First Team. During his second year, Ayton was suspended for 25 games. But he stepped up his level when Chris Paul became part of the Phoenix Suns and they led the team to the NBA finals in 2021. In the 2023-24 season, Deandre Ayton was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers as part of a three-team trade.

Alvin Ayton is the stepfather of DeAndre Ayton. As per the NBA, his father was a plumber and Ayton worked for him for one week to earn $100 for the Jeff Rogers camp.
