Born December 2, 1997, De'Andre James Hunter is an American professional basketball player. He is currently signed with the Atlanta Hawks in the National Basketball Association (NBA).

Hunter was born December 2, 1997, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S., He attended Friends' Central School in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania where he averaged 21.6 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game as a junior. He was named the Pennsylvania Class AA Player of the Year.

Hunter was ranked as the 72nd overall recruit and 14th best small forward of his high school class. He played college basketball for the University Virginia, posting 9.2 points and 3.5 rebounds per game in his freshman season. He was named to the All-ACC All-Freshman team, as well as being named the ACC Sixth man of the year for his exploits that season.

In his sophomore season, Hunter averaged 15.2 points per game and 5.1 rebounds per game and led Virginia to the 2019 Championship.

De'Andre Hunter plays for the Atlanta Hawks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is their starting power forward. Drafted initially by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2019 NBA draft with the fourth pick, Hunter was traded to the New Orleans Pelicans, and then again to the Atlanta Hawks.

Hunter made his NBA debut on October 24, 2019, against the Detroit Pistons. He finished the game with 14 points and two rebounds, with his team winning the encounter 117-100.

Hunter made a career-high six three-pointers in a single game against the Indiana Pacers on January 13, 2023. He penned a deal with the Hawks on October 17, 2022, agreeing to a four-year, $95 million contract extension.
