DeMar Darnell DeRozan is an American basketball forward/shooting guard for the Chicago Bulls in the National Basketball Association (NBA).

Born August 7, 1989, in Compton, California, U.S, DeRozan’s basketball journey started at Compton High School, where he led his team to a second consecutive Moore League championship. He was named the Moore League Most Valuable Player and was also named on the California All-State team for his efforts. DeRozan was ranked as one of the top college recruits in the country in the class of 2008. Rivals.com ranked him No.3 and Scout.com ranked him No.6.

DeRozan committed to playing college basketball at USC. In one season in college, DeRozan averaged 13.9 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.

After deciding to forgo his final three years of eligibility at USC, DeRozan declared for the 2009 NBA Draft on April 8, 2009. He was drafted by the Toronto Raptors with the ninth overall pick.

The six-time All-Star has since played for the San Antonio Spurs and now the Chicago Bulls. In the 2022/23 season, the mid-range maestro averaged 24.5 points, 4.6 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game.

Internationally, DeRozan has played for the United States national team at the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Summer Olympics, winning gold on both occasions.
