Denver Nuggets vs San Antonio Spurs preview
Friday’s game went down to the wire and needed a spectacular effort from Victor Wembanyama to give San Antonio the win. The Spurs led 111-110 with four seconds left and Wemby guarded Nikola Jokic. The three-time MVP turned the ball over after being pressured by the French phenom, which gave way to an open dunk to Devin Vassell that sealed the game’s fate.
Wemby had a double-double of 35 points and 18 rebounds, while Nikola Jokic had a near triple-double of 41 points, 18 rebounds and nine assists. With Joel Embiid battling injuries, an argument can be made that Wemby and Jokic are the two best centers in the league and Friday’s game lived up to the billing.
Jokic praised the reigning Rookie of the Year after the game, via Sports Illustrated:
"I think he's better this year than last year and I think he's gonna get even better. I think he's a special player, one of a kind, [and] will be remembered forever."
Denver Nuggets vs San Antonio Spurs betting props
Nikola Jokic’s points total is set at 31.5. After having a great game Friday and yet losing, bank on Jokic to come out with a point to prove Saturday and score over 31.5 points.
Victor Wembanyama’s blocks total is set at 3.5 as well. While he averages 3.9 blocks per game, he had just two Friday. Expect the law of averages to catch up and Wemby to have over 3.5 blocks Saturday.
Denver Nuggets vs San Antonio Spurs prediction
The oddsmakers favor the Nuggets to edge out a narrow win on the road. Jokic and Co. should cover the spread for a win in a low-scoring game where the team total should stay under 237 points.
